Mason of Dreams

Mason of dreams
fashions houses from the sand
reads impermanence in the tide
and lives in the highest dunes
waiting for the great wave
that will pull up the skirt of the sea
revealing in one terminal glimpse
the smooth white flesh of the seabed
before mantis striking the land
and severing his head clean off.
